How to Write a Job-Specific CV for Gulf Jobs
By AssignmentsAbroad ·
Gulf employers and recruiters often screen dozens of CVs for a single vacancy. A clear CV that matches the job and tells the truth gets read; a vague or padded one gets skipped. Here is how to write one that works.
Keep it short and focused
For experienced workers, two pages is usually enough. Put your most relevant experience first and cut anything that does not help the employer judge you for this particular job.
Be specific about what you actually did
A recruiter reading "machine operator, 5 years" learns very little. Show the detail that proves your experience:
- Your actual job title and the number of years you held it.
- The machines, tools or systems you operated, for example the type of machine or equipment.
- Your technical skills, qualifications and trade certificates.
- Measurable experience where possible, such as machine types, production capacity or maintenance responsibilities.
Photo and personal details
Add a professional photo only if the application asks for one or it is appropriate for the role. Keep contact details current, with a phone number and email you check every day.
Never add false qualifications or experience
Employers check documents and test practical skills. A false claim can end your application at the interview stage, or later, after you have already spent money and time. Be accurate about dates, employers and qualifications, and make sure they match your certificates and experience letters.
Key takeaway
A short, specific and truthful CV that shows your real job title, machines, skills and experience is the strongest first step toward a Gulf job.
