JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title:                    Scheduler

Org Unit Name:               Maintenance U&O (J)

Affiliate / Company:       National Industrial Gases Company (GAS)

Location:                             Jubail

 

  • Comply with GAS Operation Management System (OMS) and contribute in achieving targets and objectives linked to his department in all Value Drivers (EHSS, People and Organization, Sustainability & Energy, Production, Asset Integrity, and Cost Effectiveness)
  • Monthly/weekly maintenance plan releasing. Update Sections capacity in SAP as required. 
  • Review Ready for Scheduling (RSCH) Work Orders i.e. fully planned with all resources (materials reserved, external services procured, EHSS requirements identified) and schedule maintenance activities to ensure that the work load for each maintenance section is within available capacity.
  • Monitor Work Orders progress and ensure no RSCH Work Orders are pending without any justified reason. Ensure timely scheduling of maintenance work incorporating the timeframe given by the planners and the prioritization process.
  • Ensure scheduling compliance with PM programs of EHSS Critical Equipment & Devices as and when their PM becomes due (i.e. CRTD status). Release it (i.e. REL status) without any delay to comply with planned date.
  • Expedite daily/weekly feedback and scheduling meetings with all concerned (Operations, Maintenance, Contractors, Planners) for fine tuning & adjustment of the schedule to solve schedule conflicts. 
  • Evaluate schedule deviations and the consequences of schedule breakers on the daily and weekly schedule and take necessary measures to minimize negative impacts on efficiency.
  • Assess future (Look Ahead Plan) workload to identify short-, medium- and long-term potential resource variations resulting from available capacities and suggest collaboration / synergies of shared resources, short term movements of crafts, supplementing work force etc. to overcome concerns.
  • Frequently review PM03 Work Order planned vs actual data and initiate requests to correct any significant deviations in SAP PM Master Data. Optimize the schedule using advanced scheduling techniques such as grouping of activities, logic of sequences and reduction of lost times.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable KPIs, issue regular reports / analysis to highlight improvement areas.
  • Prepare various statistical reports on notifications, work order, backlogs, man-power status etc. to support planning, scheduling and work execution processes. 
  • Continually improve his knowledge with effectively completing the assigned IDPs, learning assignment and keep up to date in new discovery and best practices in his field.
  • Skills

    Experience:  5-8 years

    1. Time management: Schedulers must be able to manage their time effectively to meet deadlines and ensure that tasks and activities are scheduled appropriately.
    2. Attention to detail: A scheduler must have strong attention to detail to ensure that all tasks, events, and appointments are accurately scheduled and communicated to relevant parties.
    3. Organizational skills: Schedulers must be highly organized to manage multiple schedules, prioritize tasks, and ensure that all activities are scheduled and executed efficiently.
    4. Communication skills: Schedulers must be effective communicators to relay information to various parties, including team members, clients, and stakeholders.
    5. Problem-solving skills: Schedulers must be able to anticipate and resolve scheduling conflicts, adjust schedules, and troubleshoot issues that may arise.
    6. Flexibility: Schedulers must be flexible and adaptable to changes in schedules, priorities, and timelines.
    7. Computer proficiency: Schedulers must be proficient in using scheduling software, spreadsheets, and other computer programs to manage schedules and communicate with team members and clients.
