Job Description
NATURE AND SCOPE
The Medical Director is responsible for the direction, organization and strategic planning of the whole medical facility. This executive is involved in assessing, evaluating and setting facility care standards and objectives for the organization. Incumbent must generally possess excellent skills in communication, organization and leadership. Incumbent must also be competent in making quick decisions, evaluating the quality of patient care, resolving conflicts and anticipating problems before they arise.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Confirm the plan of care prepared by head nurse and to give final decision about the chosen nurse for the clients.
- Ensure the documentation, review and follow up evaluation of the care plans are meeting client’s expectation and desired clinical outcomes.
- Demonstrate, research and continuously seek and put in place Best Practices in Clinical Management of patients through collaboration with team members.
- Responsibility for medical records.
- Develops procedures and policies which deliver sustained longer term improvements based on comprehensive analysis of strategies and objectives of Risalla.
- Responsibility and accountability for the assessment of required care and the development, implementation and evaluation of holistic care for patient with intellectual disability and mental health experience.
- Supervise the whole department, be responsible for the act and duties of all the employees working under nursing department.
- Ensures that these policies and procedures are aligned with the UAE health care rules and regulations.
- Develop plans, bringing together information on clients, resources, and timescales.
- Attend disciplinary meetings in coordination with HR department,
- To co-ordinate with HR department for the interviews for new recruits.
- Follow up and keep close eye on the daily schedule, co-ordinate with head nurse for any changes.
- Develop and upgrade orientation & training content as and when required; this includes theoretical and on job training.
- Thorough checking and rectification of all the nursing notes, reports.
- Monthly audit, surprise checking of the nursing documentation and filing.
- Educate whole department about new disease, new information or development in care giving industry.
- Monitoring and control the whole nursing department.
- Mitigation of risks through appropriate planning.
- Prepare quarterly, half yearly and yearly budget for your department and ensure effective financial management of nursing department against budget allocations.
- Conducts regular reviews of contracts and adjusts as necessary for changes in organizational priorities, structures, or the external environment.
- Continuously assess training program, performance, research and develop new capabilities.
- Plan, direct, organize, control & coordinate technical efforts and staff.
- Provide professional leadership and act as a positive role model and mentor for team members.
- Adhering to and promoting the professional nurses code of conduct for UAE.
- Establishing compassionate environment by providing emotional psychological and spiritual support to patients, and their families (Clients).
- Responsible for the act of each and every employee of nursing department.
- Treat all the staff fairly without giving favoritism to any staff.
- Follow the hierarchy of reporting to address any professional or personal issue.
